If you have a dag, it might be worth staking him out by the tree.

Hi have been recently listening to a permaculture course recording by Bill Mollison that was done back in 1983 where he talked about ways communities could set up an unincorporated association and two trusts (one a holding trust for the common good, and the other a unit discretionary trust) and I was wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to find the copies of those documents. In the recording he said that he had made them available to people to use in order to set up their own system and I was hoping to check them out.

Does anyone have copies of these or know specifically where I could get them from? I am interested in all documents, the one for the ethical association, as well as the ones for the holding and unit discretionary trusts.

I was recently listening to an audio recording of a 1983 permaculture design course taught by bill mollison, and he was going over the topic of putting water to work for you. I was introduced to two new concepts during the most recent lesson I was listening to. Both were systems that could be used to create power through the natural falling of water through a system (such as water coming from a dam pipe). I have been trying to find more resources regarding them but have had very little luck so far, especially any information about the trompe air compression system. Does anyone out there know where I can find a good resource of information for these, like a book? Has anyone out there had any experience with these they could share?

I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard of someone trying to grow plants using vertical wall gardening? I've been trying to find more about it and a lot of what I've seen has been really interesting. Part of my question is "what types of plants can be grown there?".

It looks like a lot of the plants I've seen people use are forbs or herbs but I was wondering if you could do small shrubs or grasses (like a cereal grain?). Does anyone know anything about this subject who could help me understand it better?

Thanks John,
I'll have to try there The University of Arizona like you suggested.

David, do you think I would get in trouble if I wanted to grow this on my own property? Where could I find a list of "noxious weeds" that have been banned from my area?

hi folks, I was recently listening to a recorded lecture by bill mollison regarding desert permaculture and he talked about a specific variety of mesquite tree called Prosopis Pallida, also called the Kiawa tree and American Carab. he said that hawaii has developed several different varieties of it and i was hoping someone out in the forum might be able to help.

First, has anyone been able to find a resource that you can obtain them at?

Second, does any one know of a variety of pallida that is thornless?

I greatly appreciate any help you might be able to provide

I have recently been reading Mark Sheppard's "restoration agriculture" book and I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how long it usually takes to rest the land before it goes back under the grazing progression again. The system described had sections of the pasture cordoned off and each day or so you moved different groups of animals through the system, each following each other in succession.

I understand the concept behind the ordering but what I'm wondering is how much time after all the animals have past through do you wait before you let the same bit of land be grazed again?

yes, I had seen the greening the desert videos, they are amazing and one of the reasons I even thought forest gardening might be possible in my area. I had really hoped to find something more in depth on the subject, though.

Does anyone know of any good books on growing forest gardens in arid and Mediterranean climates. I have found several for wetter areas but do not know of any that would work well with my local climate due to its lower rain fall and warmer temps.

Do you know if there is a list of these anywhere? I have been trying to do more research into plant partnering and that would seem like a good place to start.
