Thyri- Thanks for the link.  Also, I'm not sure about perlite.  I've never seen it yet, and I can only imagine it's a little hard to come by.  Maybe I could get it in the capital city, but that would be maybe 7 hours away.

Travis- I would be curious to see their work.  Do you know what part of Guatemala they are in?

I am looking for suggestions for how to make a rocket stove/heater for a small concrete fruit drying room here in Guatemala.  I'm hoping to burn sticks and then bamboo down the road.  I would like to have a vertical feed so that I can put in some long sticks of fuel and then leave for an hour or more at a time.  I think I can get fire brick here, but there aren't too many high tech materials available such as high temperature insulation.

Well, that's better than that he just dropped the project

I ordered Calen's RMH video back in early March, and he said the video would be ready in "a couple months" according to his email to me. I've emailed and left a voicemail for him, but no response. Does anyone have an update on the project?

Thanks

Satamax, I've never heard of that type of stove, but I'm interested. Where is a good place to learn more?

I'm looking for plans or tips on how to build a J Tube Rocket forge similar (at least in function) to the one in Wheaton's Kickstarter. Can anyone direct me in the right direction?

Hi Everyone, I've made my first ROUGH J Tube Rocket and would like your input. I want something similar in function to the one in Wheaton's Kickstarter DVD. Since I wasn't sure about it's innards, I got some sketches and notes from Ernie & Erica about a J tube canning forge. My creation has a burn chamber similar to a RMH- even though the one in the Kickstarter has a much smaller one.

To save time, here's a link for a video of my creation:

I know there are at least two problems with it: 1. It's not sealed/airtight at the burn chamber. 2. It's not insulated with perlite.

My question mainly is: if I fix the two problems listed above, will that make it as hot as the one in the Kickstarter? What else should I do? Thanks!
