Haha, I need to remember to check for threads before I post something.

Saw an article that Google Earth Pro is now free. Could be a useful tool for permaculture design/property planning.

cheers!

Cortland Satsuma wrote:Hi Leila,

Here is a partial list for you (and others):

Very Cold Hardy Fig Seeds, Winged Sumac, Rudbeckia, Cosmos (mainly purple and white), Black Walnut, Yarrow, Siberian Iris, Sedum (Very tall, big leaves, large pink/purple flower cluster heads), Echinacea, Loblolly Pine cones/nuts, White or Pink Flowering Dogwood Tree, Native Blackberry, Butternut squash, Japanese Pumpkin, etc.

I Have a FEW Native Persimmon Seeds (darn squirrels cleaned us out, lol) that I will trade for more uncommon fruiting trees / shrubs seeds

Dried Herb Tea Baggies: Mallow Flower, Mint Flower Tea, Lemon Balm Leaf & Flower Tea, Mint Leaf Tea, Spearmint, Red Clover, Ox eyed Daisy flower, Yarrow Flower, Yarrow Leaf, Marigold Petal, Lady's thumb leaf, Blackberry Leaf, Wine Berry Leaf, Viola Flower, Black Walnut Leaf, Peach Leaf, Golden Rod Flower, Powdered Mint, Lemon Balm Powder, etc (we sell these at $4 each, will trade for equal value in seeds.)

I have more to trade; just need to get my lists together. I also do cuttings and scion wood at pruning times; anyone, please pm me with your list of what you have...swapping have lists work better than want...I find people have awesome things to trade that I had yet to consider!

Would the figs survive in Zone 5?
I have lots of Hot Pepper seeds to trade.
Ghost Pepper (Bhut Jolokia)
Trinidad Scorpion Butch-T
Trinidad Moruga Scorpion
Hot Early Jalepeno (some of them turn purple)

All are open pollinated (cross-pollination is possible, but I don't usually have a problem with it) grown in 2013, no artificial nothing of course.

I would also trade the whole pods, dried with seeds in them so you could use them for chili, hot sauce, etc and still use the seeds.

If interested, let me know what you have for trade that grows in zone 5, I'm pretty open to most things.

I also have lots of other veggie seeds, just don't have the time to check how my stocks are on everything, so feel free to ask for other stuff.

Hello, I had an idea which may or may not be a good one:
Could we set up some sort of seed swap on here? Like trading baseball cards, only with seeds. I'm not entirely sure how it would work, maybe people could list what they have to offer and make arrangements via email? I collect way more seeds than I end up using, and figured instead of buying seeds for new stuff I want, maybe people would be interested in trades.
I'm sure there are other places where people do this already, but I haven't found a local group yet and I don't have time to try and start one, so I figured I'd reach out here.

Let me know what you think...worth asking.
