Hmmm, that's interesting. He has 400+ more backers, but $27,000 less now? I did read a few articles where the guy would really like to donate the excess money to charity, but Kickstarter rules don't allow that. He never intended this as anything more than a joke with some friends and family, but it went viral. I feel better about him at least, but his backers are another matter. If this had been on GoFundMe, I'd have no issues with it, since that's what that site is for. It has no place on Kickstarter, and has me seriously considering not backing any more Kickstarters.

Just shy of 5000 backers, a little over 71 grand, 23 days to go... Feed My Starving Children can provide a meal for 22 cents, so the money wasted on this Kickstarter at this point could provide over 327,000 meals to those in need.

It's sad that this has gotten so much money while legit projects don't get funded.

Try adding an exception for permies to Ghostery.

We used to give it to our Beagle that had separation anxiety. It worked fairly well on him. He build up a tolerance for it though, and we had to keep upping the dose every few months.

I'm pretty sure he said Ro Morrow, with Ro being short for Rosemary. She was one of Mollisons early students and has written a few books.

Ummm, "World Domination Gardening" sounds like a Kickstarter from Monsanto. It also isn't very descriptive of the content. How bout "Hey baby, wanna see my excavator?" instead?

Rich;)
I think a low price point($5-10) "I participated!" type of reward is a good idea. Not all of your Kickstarters are going to appeal to everyone, and it seems like you understand that pretty well. To be honest, this one didn't appeal to me overly much when you first posted it, since it seems to be the sort of thing that requires a pretty decent amount of land, which I do not currently have. I pledged more to support the cause that anything else.

Another cool reward might be doing a video tour of the lab and showing the current works in progress. I'd like to see that. How about getting Kristie to take a nice photo of something you want to see as a reward? How about a short "how to operate an excavator without killing yourself or destroying anything" instructional video?

Most of the Kickstarter type things I've supported have been for books or games, and the ones with rewards and stretch goals that I liked the most were the ones where everyone benefitted, so I'd like to see more rewards/stretch goals along the lines of additional content for everyone, not just swag or ego stroking for me.

Behind the scenes DVD? Bloopers and outtakes DVD? Lock of Sepp Holzer's hair? A pie made with fruit from the lab?
