From what I understand biochar tends to cause things to get more alkaline. My soil is mostly straight sand and very alkaline with high salts. Our water the same. Can I add some sulphur to the biochar inoculation to acidify it?
I tried looking at some articles talking about it but they were to over my head. I need simple...
Thanks, Julie

I am very interested in RMH and would dearly love to see one in action. We recently moved to Pisa area of Tuscany. Anyone know of any within driving distance who wouldn't mind us seeing it in action?  Thanks, Julie

Hey, everyone!
I am down visiting Phoenix for a couple days and desperately want to pick a gallon or two of raw olives to cure!
I know they are around because 12-15 years ago when here we went to a city park for a picnic and I found some.
I wish I remembered where we went!!!
I am willing to pay a little if I need to.
Please call or txt me if you have some or know where to send me! 907-750-8702 THANKS!!!

Amy what about something like this? I have been looking for a long time to find the oven I want and this one is really neat. Combines the best of both worlds I think!

That you can use those dyes that way is so cool to know! Thanks!!! I will have to use it on mine. Oh, since I am building outside without a roof (at the present anyway) can I use a cement type slip coat to protect it all?
You can always trace or stencil a design on before you "Paint" if that would be easier....

Everything looks great!

Thanks! Thomas! Had my friend bring me 4 bags of fire clay from Spokane! (didn't want to overload his car!) I will take pictures!!! Still acquiring supplies. I need to finish filling in foundation with rock... We dug down to gravel to avoid shifting issues with freeze thaw cycle...I am dying to get out and work on it, the weather has been great, but I am 13 days out from a painful hysterectomy and have to limit myself...(driving me nut though!!!)

Thanks for all your ideas and advice!!!

I have been looking and looking at all the outdoor oven choices out there and finally found one I love. My question is should I leave air intake under fire grate open without ash pan to increase air flow and make hotter fire? or just bring an air intake into the firebox part way back? I still want that rockety fire but like the clean oven interior and mass combo! What do you all think?

Thanks!!!
