From Lancaster:

http://www.harvestingrainwater.com/greywater-harvesting/greywater-compatible-soaps-and-detergents/

"In the U.S., most soap and detergent manufacturers don’t list their ingredients except in very general terms: “cleansing agents,” “surfactants,” “brighteners,” “enzymes,” “perfumes” etc. — everything beyond that is a “trade secret.”

Good ole USA!

I am using Oasis laundry detergent and notice that the ingredients include surfactants which, according to wikipedia, can contain sodium laurel sulfate which is not good for greywater. Any insight into this? I emailed them to see if they can provide more details on the ingredients.

Good peoples. I have located a piece of land in urban San Diego and would like to see of it can be utilized for a community garden. Do you have any directions/tips/resources on starting community gardens and working with the City and non-profits organizations committed to sustainable food security?

In San Diego, pretty dry right now. Perhaps the mulch is composting.

I'd look at East County. There are some nice plots of land for relatively good prices. Especially if you don't need a built house and are cool with a Yurt or something.

hello. new to permies. just received a load of eucalyptus/lemon mulch. it's been out a few days, letting the allelopathic properties diminish. i spread some of the mulch around today, to lessen the height of the pile, and noticed grey and black dust clouds rising. mulch looks a bit fungal. any thoughts/ideas?
