We are developing 31 acres half pasture half woodland using Holistic management nd permaculture as a base//we are also preppers so to speak as we want totally off the grid//already have some solar dug 3 ponds put up a high tunnel and tons more but would like to have others participate//plan on all tiny houses with the present residence as the community center solar at all houses for power etc. 10 additional people would be optimal//small private houses for everyone solar and R/O water to all/shared responsibility for farming and work load/forest farming for shiitake etc inc gingseng we have already invested around 150 grand so we are well along but need help both physical and financial to complete the project//NE TEXAS mild winter great growing not sprayed in 30 years high tunnel producing as we speak......SO LOOKING FOR PERMIE PREPPERS AND ADVICE//

Does anyone have any expierence w/ the NRCS EQUIP program? We are getting confused they supposedly gave us a grant for a pond pictured on map on contract and after laying it out for us they decided we had to move it to a worthless spot for us so we cancelled [there is a 10% penalty clause we hope to get out of as they broke the contrat///Now they are offering us a grant fo a High Tunnel damn near enough to pay for the entire kit but we would have to spend a couple of thousand leveling the area for it..need advise if they made us move it after the leveling it woould break us///ADVISE PLEASE

Anyone have any suggestions for our fall market crop here//we had a horrible spring weather bugs etc///but will be growing with plastic mulch for this season. And have found organic stuff for pests and fungi

I use Medina orange concentrate quarter cup/ 1 good squirt of Dr Bonners/ and a tablespoon of OMRI perthirm[spelling] took a long time to figure out but it has worked on most pests and does not seem to impede my soil building//you have to get under the leaves too

We purchased 30 acres of pasture and hardwood land about half and half last August//and have been working hard to get it moving in the right direction/trying to develop a permaculture type scenario as well as make a minimal living//pretty much lost our first crop to insects and blight but are building better soil etc. Have inoculated 55 logs with Shiitake spawn and if we can get that going right will have an inexhaustible supply of logs from the forest..have laid 3 miles of drip T tape/installed a couple of 3000 gal reservoirs for same put in a solar pumping system, and laid hundreds of feet of piping and wiring .Small house nice barn, and a little building that already has water run to it and air but needs finished for Woofers or help or hopefully temp quarters for partner until they build///run out of development cash and need help with the work//good income potential, do not want to sell want an acceptable partner.

Objective is total self sustainability/solar/wind/water/food/inc. meat animals/and a small income, available from produce/shiitake production /and hickory woodchips for BBQ
