Well, I've been sifting the dregs of the market for a home on land. I keep coming up a bit short on the more workable properties and even those less so. I sometimes am able to buy something that will take more work than I can afford up front.

So I'm looking for opportunities to go on someone else's homestead venture or IC, if there are any situations out there where I can put in for a couple acres with I hope at least something like a barn on them. I could put in up to 70 for my share, less if I need to get services into the place. I'd have tried this route before, but it's so potentially complicated I've put it off to this point. But it's also potentially a better situation to join a group in this orbit. One thing holding me back is I just haven't been able to put in the work on developing the skillset for this past a basic understanding and minimal experience so I'm not a big plus for a closely cohesive group, but if I can go in for a plot that doesn't need intensive teamwork (I know everything on a property will interrelate and would commit to communicate and cooperate as much as is it did take) or if someone I came up with could stand in for me on things I'm not the best for doing maybe that wouldn''t be too much of a problem.

If I don't find anything like that soon I might fall back on one or another long-term project properties that need more than I can put in at once--they might though offer opportunities for other WOOFer types while I tried to get them in shape. I work full-time-plus, so I realize I'll need to plan carefully how I phase myself into anything.

Thanks for any ideas out there!

Thanks so much Dave. I apologize--I don't have images of good enough quality at the moment. (Also don't know if I should post the Google info to the world.) Sorry to be hard to help! I will try to get better visuals asap.

Hi People,

I am looking at buying a house south of Belfair with 4+ treed acres in back. I don't really know my stuff but I do see there's a bit of slope and I can't tell at this time of year if there might be drainage issues if I wanted to clear some trees and grow some food. If anyone knows some local expert could take a look and advise about what might be possible there that would really help me decide on it. Thanks for any help!

Hi,
Does anyone have experience dealing with the county planning and development department? Their Natural Resource Lands zoning? Thanks for any info.
