I live in Mannford Oklahoma in creek county just out side of Tulsa a 40 min drive. I have had this piece of property for about 8 years now and the man I got it from carried the note his family owns most of the area. he sells you the land and keeps the mineral rights.
The land I have is outside of city limits 10 acres.
In creek county you can live in a shack if you want, but with the land he will put in your water tap and septic tank. my land is in the cross timbers forest and has a creek that runs right through it.
it was the last lot in this track because people out here what flat land so they can have cows. now the ground out here is not great but in the last four years I have taken it from poor to pretty good, it just took mulching and mushroom spores to clean up the oil well scares. I am building a food forest and the creek and the oaks are great for that.
now getting to Tulsa with the 40 mile drive I use a 2000 VW beetle diesel gets about 550 miles to the tank and cost about 40 dollars fill it. the next car I will be getting is a cng they are great out here because we have a lot of filling stations and it only cost about 1.20 a gallon.
now about getting a job, if you can not find work out here, then you do not want to work!
