I am 24 and have about $140k to buy a small piece of land, build a tiny house and build a small hydroponic facility. I want to "homestead" or have a small farm that can support myself initially. I would love to reside somewhere in Hawaii, preferably a rainforest region, or the very least to find land somewhat close to a beach.
I would love to start a co-op with web-based sales sending "exotic" produce to the other 49 states but right now I would just like to get planted in the beautiful state.
This is my goal and I have not started planning yet but I need to now, any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
My greatest concerns are finding inexpensive land that is not desert like and close to a hardware store/home depot/lowes and maybe close to a farming community area.
I also will need contracted help with the framing of my initial outbuilding which I am hoping I can organize without flying down a few times (thankfully I have some air miles saved just in case).
