I guess for all of these Early Bird listings in the thread, this is just to build interest?  Every one I've went to is to a pay link.  I guess we'll get the download version at a later point?  Thanks.

Wow, showing as pre-launch yesterday and I backed it then.  Literally after only a few minutes after the email made it to my inbox this project was about 2/3rds of the way funded by the time I got there.

Now I get the official launching email today and its already funded $7k PAST fully funded.  Congratulations Paul.  I bet you are the most successful Kickstarter guy ever on the planet.  You rock!

paul wheaton wrote:We usually start "tuesday at 2" and we say "72 hours" which takes us to "friday at 2".  And when the deal is over, there is work to be done.  I would rather do that work when I am awake!

That makes sense.  Thanks for the explanation.

It seems like our everything everywhere was clear about the 2pm thing.  Can you point to an email we sent or something?

Thanks for the clarification Paul.  No I cannot point exactly to an email.  Just going by all of the advertising by Jack Spirko and John Bush who referenced "the last day" with the date being the 14th.  No one ever said there was a 2pm deadline.

And to that point, I'm sure you have your reason, but a 2pm deadline is an odd time for sure.  No one would ever think that intuitive if you're getting in on the last day.

I appreciate what you all do.  Thanks again.

Hmm, I thought the $35 price was good through July 14.  It's not the 15th yet, even on the east coast, yet the price is $65.  What happened?

I'm just hoping I don't have a problem later like last time... My EU credit card tends to reject things that don't go through the "3D Strong Customer Authentication" gateway, which normally opens when I hit "pay" on websites here, but on Kickstarter it failed to do so once again, and I'm worried I'll be getting a "payment failed" message soon.

Any Euro-permies here that are experienced tricking out Kickstarter to cooperate and open up the verification gateway? I'm on a Mac and use Safari and Firefox. Thanks if any tips.

BTW for stretch goals, I'm interested in footage of any courses at Wheaton Labs or elsewhere, especially of the Low-tech variety.

Could you just use PayPal instead?

Thanks for the suggestion Roy! I am not a fan of PayPal for reasons and don't have an account, but if push comes to shove and I get the dreaded message that the payment didn't go through, I will look into it, they at least used to make one-off payments possible with no account. I really appreciate your help!

I understand your hesitation.  I really despise Pp myself for their shady practices.  But in the end, they do work.  I just dont keep any money with them.  I have linked my credit card to use so Pp just works like a pass through.  Unfortunately I have to pay a few percent fee for using the card, which I'll gladly pay to avoid keeping money in Pp or linking to my bank account.
