Hi Jeremy, I was also asking myself the same question. I am right now making a video on my youtube channel (about permaculture) and I was talking about Village Homes and that I want to actually design something like this.
I am a permaculture designer and ready for big projects. Either a kind of ecovillage or designing water features on peoples properties.
I fled Canada in July 2022 and now living in the state of Veracruz Mexico. I believe there is good potential for something like that here, or even in the US, because the US is not TOO crazy for permits compared to Canada where it's hell on earth.

Hi I was wondering how it would be possible to have someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows someone (ok you get the point) in China or Russia that is an expert in local plants. Specifically the parts of China and Russia that match my hardiness zone in Quebec Canada (4b CAN). In this type of climate there is already a lot of plants we can grow, but less than in the tropics because of the harsh winters so it would be nice to add some nifty varieties to my gardens (making sure they are not crazy invasive also before introducing them). But just the language barrier and the distance would make this very hard. I know we already have some plants that are sold in nurseries that come from these countries, but I am still discovering obscure/less known plants here in Quebec, so for sure there are a lot of uncommon wild plants in China and Russia that we have never heard about and could be useful/edible/medicinal.
What are your thoughts on this?

By the way, does someone know what time it takes the plants to go from seed to nut?
So I have a couple of 1.5' tall Xanthoceras on this photo. I also have 40 more germinating right now On my first batch I dug out all the ones that didn't germinate, and nicked them again, and back in the peet. Some took longer than others but they kinda all germinated. You have to nick them pretty severly (without hurting the embryo too much). I use a very sharp chef knife and cut out small strips until I see a good portion of white (2-3 mm) . No stratification. Apparently it helps but so far, the nicking works very well. I germinated them with a 18/6 light cycle.
