Oh good grief. Lived in Willapa valley for years and I have NEVER seen such idiots in my life regarding this string. I grew up on a dairy farm and was taught from a tender age to NEVER even consider throwing this junk on the ground. I am guessing it is mostly that orangish red sorta plastic crap. If it has melded into the ground you may need to resort to what was termed a 'bull prick' on the back of your three point. I guess a more polite term is a 'sub soiler'.

This is going to take a lot of time and may even take years depending on how slovenly your predecessor was. Monte is a pretty nice area out there and I wish you luck getting that junk out of your ground.

May be tough to find one of those collars. Looks to be cast iron and that is tough to weld properly. I assume you have the piece in question, so... might consider having one made from steel by a competent welder. Looks as if it bolts on with those two ears. I am guessing there is a bit of stove gasketing material or cement to seal in to the stove under the ears and around the outer diameter? Good luck with it.

Regarding the foam options, I think you have answered your own question there. It may be tough financially but if there is any way to go the extra money i would lean toward using the better grade of foam if at all possible. Either way, make double sure you have overbuilt the drainage and you will never have to revisit that area again. Good luck with the project.
