I'm growing a lot of tomatoes this year in my greenhouse. They are cobra plants. I'm wondering if anyone has some good recipes for canning green and also ripened tomatoes.
I just purchase a super 27 wood stove by pacific energy does anyone use this model. From all the info I gathered it's one of the most common stoves used in Ontario. I only burn soft wood pine. I'm hoping it's a good one

I have seen this before and experienced it myself. I'm not sure if you have any sand in your area but once it's mixed in with your soil it will improve things also peat moss works well.

Just read all the posts about getting land etc. I am off grid in the Canadian North just above Alberta boarder. I believe people don't think about this area because they think nothing can be grown here but that's not correct I grow potatoes, turnip, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, beets, peas beans onions etc. It's also possible to can fish and moose meat. You don't have to purchase land your better off to lease land. If you can get your start and want to start producing and selling there is funding available to help you. You have to live up here for a year before you can get a lease. If you want to build a log cabin all the logs are available for it. My friends cabin is for sale presently. If anyone wants more info I'm here to answer them

Hi I'm new to this forum. I am off grid in the boreal forest in the north west territories. I have built a very comfortable cabin . I also have garden beds and a 20 x 30 greenhouse. I am 55 year old male who is looking to share my cabin with someone interested in this type of lifestyle. I was born and raised in southern Saskatchewan and winters are similar but are longer up here. Up here you can get a lease and build a cabin . Taxes are about $170 per year. There is a comfortable cabin for sale about 4 km away. There is some work in the area as well. If you like the outdoors you would like it here. I can be contacted at russachase@icloud.com
