Hi I'm new to this forum. I am off grid in the boreal forest in the north west territories. I have built a very comfortable cabin . I also have garden beds and a 20 x 30 greenhouse. I am 55 year old male who is looking to share my cabin with someone interested in this type of lifestyle. I was born and raised in southern Saskatchewan and winters are similar but are longer up here. Up here you can get a lease and build a cabin . Taxes are about $170 per year. There is a comfortable cabin for sale about 4 km away. There is some work in the area as well. If you like the outdoors you would like it here. I can be contacted at

Howdy Russ, welcome to permies!
