I've had 3 kids and I can tell you from experience, the garden can wait, sweet mama. Give yourself grace. The baby will only be little for the smallest blip of time, plant a whole mess of green manure/living mulch, and let the garden wait for you to give birth and get thru the first year of motherhood. Birth, postpartum, breastfeeding and sleep deprivation will take a toll on your body. Heed that and rest and enjoy your little one. Let your husband do the heavy lifting right now.

You won't ruin your garden if it sits fallow a bit. In fact, by growing the living mulch, adding compost and manure, and letting it stew, your garden year after next will be BOOMING!!

They are not at all permies, and they don't get it. They enjoy the honey from our bees but think I'm nuts for keeping them. Same with produce from the garden. My inlaws are more supportive than my blood relatives, they live rurally and grow grapes and blueberries, ferment stuff, make sourdough. My MIL brings me seeds and plants often. I wish more of my family cared! Even my husband isnt into it.I'm really the lone permaculture nut 😏
Thank you for the suggestions!

Hi, everyone! I have some questions about marketing tf honey, I would really love to hear your thoughts and experiences. I'm a suburban beekeeper, and currently have 7 very productive tf hives. I've been selling raw, unfiltered honey to friends, family, and neighbors for $20/lb, which seems to be about what other tf honey is selling for? I'm working on a logo and label and am wondering what I should (and can legally) put on there to make people aware of how special tf honey is?! Most folks don't have any idea what tf even is, and I don't want to bog them down in minutiae, but I'd like to have something on the label (or a card attached to the jar) so they know why my honey is special and worth twice as much as the other local, conventionally produced stuff. Thoughts, advice, musings welcomed!

I was given this same one for Christmas year before last and I absolutely adore it. By far the most used tool in my garden. It still looks amazing, too, and is still sharp, after all this time and use !!

It is lovely, but after my experience, I would never ever plant it on purpose. And I would put it in my will not to, either! Even the "not invasive" varieties can be very difficult to keep under control. We just bought our first home and I spent months trying to reclaim our yard from it. So much work.  It had been neglected for only a few months, and had obviously only been planted in two spots along a fence. Had I known I'd be pulling it out from all over yard probably forever, I would've offered less on the house LOL (but seriously, though)

What a nice space,  and full sun! Excellent! You can grow all kinds of things. I had a big container garden in our rental for years.  You can have different layers in a container garden, just like if you were designing an in the ground permacture garden. For your tree layer, there are lots of dwarf fruit trees that do well in containers, as well as fruiting bushes and cane fruits. Look for the container-growing varieties!! You'll get much higher yields with much less input this way.  I didn't do that the first couple years,  learned the hard way LOL I got great results using homemade self watering containers I built using the same food grade buckets a previous poster mentioned. Got them free for the asking from a local restaurant. Just search you tube or Internet,  there's lots of great how-tos to make them. Super easy,  too. And for worms,  you can make a worm bin on the cheap from 2 large Rubbermaid bins, and let it live in a shady spot outside. Best of luck to you in your garden
