I'm having the same doubts around here. The tethering seem to be the cheapest, easiest solution. My concern is about the goats getting tangled around trees and brushes. May work better if the run line is fixed about 1,5 meter from the ground. My first thought was to start with just one animal, but most people say that goats doesn't go well alone. So I must think about double the structure. Saw a video on Youtube showing two goats in the same run line. Doesn't look good.

I'm planning to rise 2 sheep in a small space I have in my property. Neve rised sheep before, so I have a lot of questions about.
For now I need to know if there's possible to rise the 2 sheep I want in a 0.6 acre pasture I have already clean. I have rye growing there right now since the winter is coming right here (Southern Brazil).
For this space, is there paddocks better, or I don't need to divide the area? Once the winter is gone, I'm planning to seed some summer pastures there to improve the quality and production of mass in the area.
For now, these informations will give the confidence to start.
Thank you all, I'm always learning something new around here!

Hi,
I just acquired a new property, mostly shrubs growing there now. It's been suggested to put some pigs to start the job of cleaning and preparing the soil for growing some food. I'm thinking of electric fencing them, and rotational grazing. Right now I have a big concern: the smell. Some of the areas that need a good cleaning are just around the house and I'm afraid that it get smelly. Anybody there tried something like this? It works? Am I right of being afraid of the smell? Other sugestions?

BTW, I live in southern Brazil, and the plan is to produce some good food for me and my family. I'm learning a lot here! Thanks!
