Found a fun solution ;) I don't think it'll hold up for long, the bristles will probably begin to snap as it dries, but it was fun and easy to make and I certainly have enough broom to re-make it whenever I need to!

And by the way, for others looking to buy land in Portugal, my partner and I just put together a little video with some tips we wish we'd known before we started. If you have any other info that you think we missed, feel free to post them here or in the Youtube comments :) xx

Hello! I hope you get lots of new permie faces coming into the region soon :) My partner and I just bought some land in Portugal and put together some tips based on our experiences :) Hopefully someone here finds it useful! xx

Thanks for the speedy reply and for your help
Hello! Hopefully a staff member will see this and if not, perhaps someone could point me in the right direction for posting such a query.

I've just received a message telling me to change my display name because it doesn't comply with the Naming Policy. The thing is, this is my real name (hippy parents, go figure). How can I clear this up?
Thanks for the tip! :) Looking forward to getting connected with the community.

I've had the idea of mulching it and using it as the carbon component in my (as-yet-non-existent) compost toilet, instead of sawdust.

Hello all! My partner, Tobi, and I just bought 2 hectares in Aranhas (halfway between Penamacor and Monsanto) and are looking forward to connecting with the local community, especially with people working on similar projects to our own (permaculture, earthbuilding, water management, off-grid...). There's so much to learn and this will be quite the change of pace so we're excited to see what awaits us!

We'll be spending a week on the land mid-October before moving there permanently in March. If anyone would like to connect in October (and next year), let us know! We'd love to make some new friends!
