As an oil painter, I’ve had more people want to barter for services rather than lay out hundreds of dollars.

Mice don’t like strong odors like peppermint oil. I put some on cotton balls. Non-toxic near your food. It evaporates so you may need to frequently do this until things stay frozen and they stop thinking your cozy place is a great place for the winter. Voles eat green grass. If you can find it, put piles outside.

Are there older people? Can you accommodate an oldster 60’s brainiac who shouldn’t lift over 30lbs, and has some days of intolerable pain, where it’s off the feet?

A bit of apple-jack!

We got a nice little old house a while back. It misses only one thing, sun. It hits the house, but neighbors trees shade the yard. How much sun does a greenhouse need? Can LEDs supplement light?

Also, LIMA BEANS. They have a lot of cyanide when raw or undercooked.  Cook 15min of boiling with lid partly ajar. This removes it. Even frozen beans need it. Kidney beans are similarly toxic if raw, not sure by what,,and you have details above. I think I would avoid raw legumes except peas at this point.

Nutmeg, the baking spice is hallucinogenic, a tablespoon can cause LSD type effects with a very hairy down slope and sweating. (Can’t remember where I read it).  Just use the small amounts as usual. Dose always matters.

Ergotamine poisoning comes from the fungus on improperly stored rye grain. It has been speculated as to what started the ‘fits ‘ and hallucinations the girls had, and this led to the Salem, Mass, witch trials.

That fresh meat is full of natural enzymes. I assume the blood has some as well. Not sure how long the blood lasts, but the fresh meat doesn’t spoil in just a few hours, like meat from the store. A carcass can hang for several days and not poison you. If I’m not getting this thread, I didn’t sleep enough and I just woke up to this lovely Permies email. Have a happy day!
