Got it to start I used one of those fire starter things. 50ยข+ tax each had to buy a box and I had to relight the fire starter  twice but hey 3rd times the charm. Took it 10 minutes to start burning the wood but I'm glad I can see where it leaks. I will have heat this winter yay me.

The drum is a stratification bell you could build something out of bricks. Just make sure it is leak free

The first trick, if you have good draw, you make a fence of sticks; no bigger than your pinky;  vertical on the burn tunnel side. Hold these with your left hand, while you stuff newspaper balls behind, to hold the sticks. Then light the paper. If this doesn't light the sticks, your wood is too wet i would think. .

I was figuring it was too wet. Well here's to burning pallets.

Eric Hammond wrote:Bahaha I still haven't finished mine, you've definitely surpassed me and I started first.  I had wondered about the final seal as being paraffin wax melted onto the surface with a heat gun. Has anyone tried this? This idea came to me when my wife exploded beeswax all over the kitchen and concrete floor. The only way to spread it and get it off was a heat gun and it put a pretty nice sealer all over.the floor! I dont have enough beeswax to cover the bench but paraffin is reasonably priced?

.

Your bench gets hot or warm right? Wax gets soft or liquid when it gets warm. Just remember this.

So I have an issue starting mine I think it's the wood I get the paper in and burning and that's it it starts drawing and no more fire. I tried trouble shooting it lit tea light candles placed them in the burn chamber and it has such a good draw. The cold air whipping threw and it blows the candles out. Mind you it is about 40 degrees Fahrenheit in this area. What could remedy this issue? What is this that is happening?

I have a bikes at work trailer had it for years it has 2 other leaves so I can make it 8ft long but I generally runaround with it short. It was interesting learning my hualing abilities. Like with my new bike I can pull 250lbs up my hill. With a cheap mountain bike 200 is my max. But I can say I have had about 400lbs on it for 75miles this summer. I will load that picture later.

i have been using rain water for years to flush the toilet, cook, shower, and drink. During the warm months only i live in a climate where shit freezes. I have a tank on my roof that fills from the gutters from the roof above it and 2 tanks on the ground that fill from the rest of the rooves. i have a 1 gallon minute sprayer pump to transfer the water from the lower tanks to the roof tank. all on one manual switch so i have to watch to make sure the lower tanks dont run dry or i overfill the roof tank.

i am currently building a second use water system for flushing the toilet at my moms house it is fed from the washing machine discharge.
