  DNR sells discounted bundles of 100 trees and shrubs for wildlife is the purpose like hedgerows.

You are in a wonderful area and 31 acres is a great amount. I love the rolling hills with the water catchment ponds all over that area.
Glad you have found several like minded friends. I am not familiar with Wofati/Oehler style house I will have to check that out. That would be a great retirement location.
Are you doing any plantings? I know through the Iowa DNR and pretty sure the MO DNR does the same thing to get some nice walnut oak maple and hedges planted so they are growing nicely.

 In Lemonade

One of my favorites is to freeze Rhubarb stalks then take a couple out when making lemonade. Then take the water in blender with the rhubard stalks and blend it to liquid. Pour into pitcher and make lemonade as normal.

My first year of getting Persimmons I did not need a frost for good flavor. Two of my four trees produced a dozen on one tree 6 on the other so looking forward to future years.

This does sound like a wounderful plant to grow. I would like to get some as well I want to see if I can track down the seed also and $10 for 15 seed doesn't sound bad to me for this. It sounds like its easy to grow and can bring in for winter in pots and keep it going. I think this would be a wonderful salad addition.
