Congratulations on your land purchase in PR. You picked a great area that I visited on my land hunting trip in 2019.
I had identified a 100-acre property nearby owned by a guy from NY but someone else bought it before I could make an offer.
I also plan to buy land in PR but on the East or SE side of the island for many reasons.
I am selling my 59 acres of land near Uvita, Costa Rica and 649 acres of land in Belize to fund a project much like your plans.
Good luck and I look forward to hearing more about your progress in the future.
If you hear of 100 acres of land near the Maunabo or Roseavelt Roads area please let me know.
I plan to visit again around late July 2022.
Thanks

Thanks Michael. We are still looking for someone (preferably a couple) to join us in this venture. Feel free to message me through Permies when you do visit and perhaps we can meet up. Just curious, what are your reasons for wanting to settle in PR instead of CR or Panama?

We're looking for a couple to help us manage our 37 acre permaculture property in the beautiful central mountains of Puerto Rico near Utuado. We're still in the process of planning and building out the property with the hope of one day making it mostly self sustainable and off-grid and with plans to turn it into a small retreat center.  If you've got experience in organic farming, permaculture, carpentry, welding, construction, etc. and are interested in moving to Puerto Rico or homesteading in the tropics, then please contact us via Permies or through our Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/refugiopuertorico/

Additional information:
Our place is a small farm set on 37 acres of rugged jungle terrain and sits at 2,200 - 2,600 foot elevation (average year-round temperature of 72 degrees) in the south central mountains of Puerto Rico near the town of Utuado. The farm used to be a coffee farm but had been neglected for many years. We are in the process of regenerating the property using organic and permaculture principles. Our long term goal is to become self-sustaining, promote food security, and become a model for other locals. We also hope to develop the property into a small group retreat center.

Amenities/Benefits:
- lots of fresh cultivated food and fruit in season including wild berries and other fruits and plants that grow wild in the jungle
- fresh air and natural spring water
- peace and tranquility
- high speed internet (we do not have a TV)
- within 30-45 minutes of many swimming holes and waterfalls (some within minutes of our property)
- beautiful beaches within 1-2 hours
