We're now actively looking for a couple to help us manage our 37 acre permaculture and retreat property in the beautiful central mountains of Puerto Rico near Utuado. In the last six years, we've moved closer to our goal of creating a holistic small group retreat center where we are off-grid and can grow a variety of foods. Ideal candidates will have experience with permaculture, carpentry, welding, construction, hospitality, etc. and are interested in moving to Puerto Rico or homesteading in the tropics.

We are looking specifically for a couple who can live with us for the long-term to help us build out our vision. "Refugio" as we call our property is an incredibly special place, so we are looking for exceptional people to join us in this endeavor.
In exchange for the opportunity to live here and have your housing and other essential expenses paid for, this couple will work alongside us either year-round or seasonally. This is a non-paid opportunity to begin with as we work toward developing a property that is self-sustaining and can generate some revenue year-round.
Non negotiables include:
- one or both must have solid construction and maintenance skills
- ideally at least one must have experience with hospitality (Airbnb, retreats, cooking, etc.) or at least enjoy hospitality
- both must live a healthy lifestyle (active, eat few processed foods, non-vaccinated, etc.)
- both must have a similar world outlook and outlook on life
- must not have children since our property is not set-up to have children around full-time
- both must have a strong work ethic
- as a couple you must have an alternative source of income or one or both of you could work part-time remotely.
