Well color me inspired! Does anyone have a good resource for when different mushrooms fruit, and how mushrooms play well together? I know winecaps and oysters were mentioned earlier, and someone else was talking about successive harvests in the spring and fall. Is there a database I can use to plan such things?

Hello all! I'm in North Jersey at the moment, although likely to move to Philadelphia within the next year. My permaculture knowledge is mostly theoretical, but I'm always down to problem solve or bounce ideas, and I'd love to make some new friends! Feel free to message me or respond to this thread and we can start chatting!

Edit, realized I'd already posted in this thread earlier! My bad...

Hello All!

I'm currently returning to the world of gardening after a few years away, and was wondering if anyone had any plant cuttings in NJ we could swap-- by mail preferably, but in person is possible depending on location.

I'm offering Japanese Maple cuttings, rambling wild rose cuttings, raspberry bush cuttings, lemon verbena cuttings, and lavender cuttings. I have more cuttings I can get too, so don't be afraid to ask if there's something you want!

I'm in search of just about anything I can get my hands on that will grow in a container garden, with a specific interest in perennials.

Thank you!

The one thing that you need to be careful of is the strength of the essential oil dilution for your beard oil. For healthy adults you can use up to 2% of essential oil to base oil for regular use, although if you have sensitive skin or intend to use it daily it may be better to go for 1%. 3%+ dilution is only for short term and acute use, and should not be used regularly or long term.

Here is a link to a dilution chart and calculator: https://www.nowfoods.com/healthy-living/articles/diluting-essential-oils.

Hello! I was just introduced to the Miniature Zebu, and I am in love. I particularly love how compact and multi-purpose they are. But I'm trying to do my due-diligence, and I'm having trouble finding their requirements when they're not in Texas. Are they limited to the South of the US, or would it be possible to keep a smaller herd in, say, Delaware? If they could be kept up north, what special considerations would they need?

Does anyone with experience with Mini Zebu have any opinions or advice? If they would not thrive in the north, does anyone have another small cattle suggestion, and reasons why?

Thank you for your help!!

Hello all!

I'm also a Jersey native, from the north (bout an hour out of NYC). I am still in the planning and pre-planning stage of my permaculture journey, but I'd love to bounce ideas and learn more about what you are up to! Feel free to message me here, and I'd be glad to exchange contact information!

I'm in the same boat! Are there any tips or tricks people can recommend for how to approach the garden planning?
