Capture One is definitely a good choice, I once used it and it helped a lot. However, I prefer free editing tools like GIMP and Darktable.
Darktable is the raw processor/editor I use (with GIMP for the stuff Darktable can't handle) . After trying a few, I found I preferred Darktable.
