Michele Rose wrote:Hi there
I thought your post was really good so I thought I'd make a comment to boost it up again.
Out of curiosity; what does it mean to have gnostic beliefs? I've heard of people being agnostic but I've never actually heard someone describe their beliefs as gnostic.
Sorry if that's a stupid question.
Good luck on your search 😊

Thanks Michele.

There's significantly more too it, but overall the Gnostic belief system centers on the idea that spiritual enlightenment and direct knowledge (gnosis) of the divine truth lead to salvation. It often emphasizes a dualistic view of the world, where the material realm is seen as flawed or corrupt, and the spiritual realm as pure and divine. Gnosticism seeks a personal, inner connection with God, often bypassing institutionalized religion.

Hi, I’m a 33-year-old rancher in Arkansas, building a self-sufficient life rooted in faith, tradition, and sustainability. After careers in engineering, the military, and a few other ventures, I realized my calling: working the land, raising cattle, and creating a legacy worth passing on.

On my ranch, I raise cattle and plan to add chickens and fur bearers, practicing rotational and regenerative grazing to improve the land. I’m deeply passionate about sustainable agriculture, permaculture, and re-greening techniques, working to make my ranch a thriving ecosystem for decades to come.

Here’s a bit about me:

Faith-driven: My Christian/gnostic beliefs guide my life. God comes before everything.

Hardworking and traditional: I value family, legacy, and purpose-driven work.

Curious and well-read: I’m passionate about history, reading, and exploring alternative perspectives, including conspiracy theories. I enjoy digging deep into topics that make me think about the world in a new way.

Creative in the kitchen: I love experimenting with new recipes and trying different ways to use what’s grown or raised on the ranch.

Hands-on problem solver: Whether it’s fixing equipment, building something from scratch, or restoring old tools, I enjoy working with my hands and finding solutions.

Active and outdoorsy: I stay fit through ranch work, lifting weights, hiking, and generally staying active.

I’m looking for someone 18-29 who wants kids, is unvaccinated, and shares traditional values. I hope to meet someone who’s passionate about faith, family, and living close to the land. If you enjoy gardening, working with animals, or the idea of living off-grid, that’s a huge plus.

If you value God, family, and a meaningful life, and you dream of raising kids on a ranch while building something real and lasting, we might be a great match. Let’s talk and see where it goes!

Jeremy Baker wrote:I might know a small ranch that might be interested in pasturing small animals behind the organic grass fed cows in NW Washington. I can ask. I would consider it myself but am out looking at properties to purchase. Still looking.

I've been looking at properties for a while, but I feel like I'll likely never find exactly what I want at the price I want, and just keep looking; so, I think fiefdoms and community is probably the best way to go. Since you could always move if it's not what you're looking for. I'd definitely be interested in NW Washington; love the views/weather.

Leaf Bailey wrote:Hi David,
I like your (and joel’s) idea. Not sure if my place would be a good fit but you can look up some of my other posts to learn more about what I’ve got going on. In a nutshell, my property is off-grid, in southern Oregon, 25 mins from Ashland. Not much infrastructure for animals at this point but certainly could be. It would be needed as we have all predators, other than wolf.
Peace,
Leaf

Hey Leaf,

I only found a few of your pictures, is it all sloped?
I like the idea of living in a community of like-minded individuals, though I've had no success in finding a spot.

I've been considering the possibility of "renting" some land in and around someone's orchards to pasture poultry and herd sheep or goats; my animals keep the property clean, so you don't have to mow or worry about pests and the plants get fertilized. I like Joel Salatin's ideas about fiefdoms and want to run my business overlaid on top of ours. I have a van that I would park tucked away somewhere on the property, preferably with a quarter acre to tend my own garden and house the animals while they're not being herded around the rest of the property.

What I provide: fertility from the birds/sheep, more critters eating to manage the grass/alfalfa mix growing between the trees. Help occassionally on other projects that arise. A few birds for your table. NO drama, late night noise, etc. Occasional trades of animal care so we can leave the farm once in a while.

We establish "rules & mutual understanding" early so we can be good neighbors. I would use only organic feed. I'm a very straightforward person, what you see is what you get.

I also have 2 dogs, which would be with me or the van at all times.

A little about me: I'm 30, single, I grew up on a 350acre farm in Hawaii, I attended several universities, graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering and aviation maintenance technology, I was a jet engine mechanic on the B2 Stealth Bomber for the Air Force; I'm currently an analyst for a mortgage company, I can fix just about anything, majority of my interests are outdoor related; I enjoy meditation, yoga, hiking, rock climbing, horses, history, constantly learning, etc.

If you'd like to discuss further and think I might be a good fit on your property please reach out. greerc91@gmail.com
I like the idea of being part of a like-minded community on a large plot of land where everyone has their own 1/4 acre or so tucked away to do whatever they want. I personally have a nice van I live/travel out of; would just park it in the corner and raise goats/tend a garden. Then pitch in on communal chores, farm stand, etc.

I have a wide range of experience/expertise. I grew up on a 350acre farm in Hawaii, raised cattle and grew exotic fruit. I'm ex-military (jet engine mechanic) have a degree in mechanical engineering and can fix just about anything. I am completely unplugged and find our current society abhorrent. My interests in include permaculture of course, true history, anything outdoors, fixing things, meditation, reading, etc.

If you'd like to talk more about finding land or have a spot I'd be welcome, please reach out. greerc91@gmail.com

I'm open to purchasing the 1/4acre or so, on the large plot to "buy-in"
