There are so many unique places to live, but the prices of real estate are definitely variable for some people.
I want to collaborate with others to split up the homesteading/permaculture workload for one person and perhaps share resources and companionship. I am currently in the market.
Again, I encourage you to refrain from any immediate extreme life and lifestyle decisions. Take your time. I am a Non-vegan today and find it much more manageable and healthier than when I was a strict vegetarian years ago.

Thank you for the response and advice. I don't understand what you mean by 'moderating one's values', but it's not important. I understand there is a large population of pioneering 'off-graders' living in AZ. It's interesting, but definitely not where I want to be. I'm just looking for other folks who have either planted their flag, or seek to, and collaborate in building an economic ecosystem, of sorts, centered around sustainability.

These aren't immediate, extreme lifestyle changes. I didn't come to this understanding moments before making this post. After a lifetime of working to reconcile these issues that plague us, it has become apparent that there is no reconciliation to be had. As such, it's time to move in a new direction which I've been doing for several years, now. Thank you for the sentiments, though. While I don't agree with them, I appreciate you chiming in.

The short version is - I've spent the first half of my life in music and the second half in politics, research, and political activism - only to realize, within the past four years that it was all in jest. In that time, I learned a number of things about the who, what, when, where, why & how. At this point, there is a ticking clock and the city is no place to be. I am looking to move out of the city and rid myself of dependency upon all 'system' things - banking , grocery store, gas pumps, internet service, etc. The decision to go is not based on fear, but more to do with staying true to my values and morals, which I cannot do living my current lifestyle.

I have the means to go but I want to be around other like-minded folks in a sort of collaboration. Maybe not quite an intentional community, but a number of folks and families within proximity to one another who can fill the necessary gaps we all need filled.

I have done some cursory searching on various sites, but haven't found a reliable source to point me in the correct direction of connecting with others who share my passion.

I'd like to purchase property, somewhere, and build a self-sufficient life on that property, within proximity to other folks like me. I'm not certain of where I want to go, but my heart is set on northern Utah or northern Colorado, or perhaps Idaho or Wyoming, but I'm not averse to considering other options.

I'm single, 44 years old, male and hetero. If anyone has some suggestions or ideas I would tremendously appreciate any guidance. Don't hold back, please.
