Yes, rabbits are incredibly susceptible to pathogens...they are a huge disease vector group in the wild. I keep them off the ground to reduce risk of illness being passed on from the wildlife on our land. Especially since this is one of our big sustainable protein sources I work very hard to keep them happy and healthy...because ultimately it affects our health too!
