This is where I stand.  I eat only animal fats with olive oil for salads and some avocado that I blend with lard (ours are pastured and foraged) if we fry.

I had terrible restless legs for years, took medication for 8 years until I discovered I was anemic.  Iron and B12 play a huge role in your sleep.  you can easily find sleep clinic doctors who will confirm this.  Lots of reasons for anemia and low B levels.  Diet, low stomach acid and so on.  Anyway, long story short I make sure I get enough iron and B's. My severe RLS (which left me running around the house many hours a night and unable to ride in cars or watch a movie) is now gone.  13 years off meds.  Hope this helps.

I am in Northwestern Michigan, zone 4-5, we are doing something similar with our 20 acres.  We are not living there yet.  We planted a bunch of white mulberry, willow and poplar to use for pollard and coppicing. Our property has a lot of sugar maple, white oak, old growth white pine.  Part of it was logged off and it was left a mess.  We've spent two years cleaning it up.
