OK, so Ive built it!

https://youtube.com/shorts/u5VQbG56kYU?feature=share

I made a 15mm ceramic fiber board L box as shown in the picture, attached it to the metal feeder and surrounded it with chamotte bricks from an old school electric TA (Thermal Accumulation) or mass heater. I ended up not using any mortar, all the bricks are just stacked so that everything can be easily disassembled, rebuilt, and moved. This is my first rocket stove build and I am so happy with it. Everything works great so far, Ive only built it today. I will rearrange bricks to allow better air flow and possibly add more. I live in a big vineyard and olive grove and I always have a lot of branches and sticks and since I live in a tiny house, a truck refrigerator container unit with good insulation, its a perfect fit. Thanks to Peter and everyone at permies, I really appreciate everything you're doing.

Dry fitting everything before welding and cementing

Here`s a video of the design:

youtube.com

I plan to insulate the flue using a 4cm larger rain gutter and rock wool and leave 3cm of the flue pipe exposed at the top. Hopefully it will create a difference in temperature in the flue since it should be exposed to the heat dispersing from the top and help with the drag.

I also plan to add a vertical square metal plate in the feeder to act as a P channel.

I will post some photos after the welding is done.

The riser is ceramic fiberboard, two layers of 15mm, total of 30mm.

I also planned to try to incorporate an oven on top in a style of Sač or Peka, but made from refractory cement to adapt to the rocket stove top. I plan to take the whole stove outside for the spring, summer and autumn to use for cooking and baking.

Wonderful stove! I live in a tiny house which is very well insulated, its an ice truck container, and I need a small rocket stove to heat up the 12m² during the mild Mediterranean winter. I fell in love with Minnie as soon as I saw that its all consisted in one barrel basically. It would fit perfectly in my home.

1. I was wondering what is the poured concrete-like material on the bottom of the big barrel and, I presume, inside the smaller barrel?

2. Would it be ok to put chamotte bricks inside since I have quite a few of them?

3. Its a 4 inch system, so I should size openings and J tube dimension accordingly?

4. Does the metal feed pipe reach all the way to the riser, and then riser is just ceramic fiber board, or is the burn chamber insulated as well?

I'm hoping to build it before my girlfriend comes back to a cold house, which should be in a few weeks time So, any help is welcome, I just want to make my girlfriend not freeze

Thanks,
Ensar
