Committed couple in their early 30’s looking for a long term homesteading community. Ideally looking for a space that offers an off grid living arrangement (cabin, tiny house, yurt, etc) where we can stay. Our desire is to build strong, nurturing relationships, help steward the land, and raise a family based on principles of intentional community.

A little background on us:

She has previous work experience in farming, animal husbandry, vegetable and cut flower production, canning & preserving, milking goats, bee keeping, making salves and tinctures, candle making, and building permaculture based garden plans. She is interested in learning more about self sufficient activities. Specifically she would like to focus on harvesting and spinning wool, hand quilting, trapping, butchering, and carpentry. She loves to learn and would be open to any and all opportunities to share knowledge with others.

He has a background in education/research, Wampanoag lifeways, hide processing, wood working, farming and traditional ecological practices, and experience constructing traditional Wampanoag structures. Able to provide homeschool programming, curriculum, instruction, and assessment across disciplines as well as provide experiential learning opportunities for the community. He is interested in learning more preservation techniques, cordage processing, and other areas of land-based skills practiced by his ancestors. Being an educator, he also loves to learn and looks for ways to reciprocate that elsewhere.

We are looking to find a community in the Southern Maine/Mid-Maine region. Our idea would be to share in the community, help out with caretaking, and develop an equitable cost sharing plan. We come with a friendly 6 year old golden retriever and would love to set up a meet and greet in order to build connection and determine good fit.

Hello!

I realize we are a bit later to respond, and you may have already connected with someone else but wanted to reach out just in case. My parent and I (30F 31M) are looking for community. I will post more details below. If this is something that might line up with what you are looking for we'd love to connect with you!

We would be available for a late summer/fall arrangement. Our dream is to find a space with like minded people to learn and share what we know with, to develop life long relationships, and to pursue a sustainable life in community for ourselves and our family.

Please reach out if you are seeking the same or help us connect with others who are! We are so passionate about this and beyond excited to take part in community.
