My bad, I hadn't even thought of that being an issue. I'll get that added in just a moment.

Not sure if you're still searching for some of these, but I made a post with links to a bunch of different cultivars/varieties if you wanna take a look? Hopniss list Treasure for sure is on there, as I was able to find one site selling that one. The rest I still have to search around for, since Ive only seen them on Okios, or used for a breeding mix.

Since I'm currently hyper fixated to an extent with this plant (Going to be growing it for the first time this upcoming year (2026)), and I've seen a few posts wondering where to get certain cultivars/varieties. I figured this wouldn't be too much of a spam post and others could ad on as well. (Plus I keep hating my spreadsheet and haven't managed to get the styling down right because I keep adding too much info to it 😅)

Apios Americana:
  • Labeled LSU:
  • LSU selected strain
Site says plants come from a strain of LSU superior cultivars, known for their large tubers
LSU Groundnut (But the description calls it an improved variety)
  • Labeled LSU Improved:
  • LSU improved
    Improved LSU Cultivar
  • Labeled LSU Prolific:
  • LSU Prolific
  • Nutty Labels:
  • Nutty #1
[Still looking for #2 and #3. I've only found the dead Okios product pages for those two]
  • “Michellin Man”:
  • renamed long-forgotten label of a Bill Blackmon selection
  • Blackmon 2127 “Samantha”:
  • webpage
  • Blackmon 1972 “Simon”:
  • webpage
  • Blackmon 2183:
  • webpage
  • Bill Blackmon numbered selections:
  • from Bill Blackmon’s most recent, at-home breeding
    Selections are named numbers: 1.8, 1.9, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.13, 2.14, 2.15, 2.17
  • Dr Duke’s Delight:
  • wild triploid selection made by Dr James Duke
selection from the late James Duke, Maryland herbalist
  • Treasure:
  • selected by Kenny Asmus of Oikos Tree Crops
  • 'Billington' Hopniss:
  • Two distinct selections. These are from a wide array of improved cultivars and wild collections. Origin genetics are from William Whitson of Cultivariable, Dr. Bill Blackmon of LSU (Blackmon 2127, 2183 and 1972), John Sherck of Indiana, and Norton Naturals.
  • Indiana Diploid:
  • webpage
  • South Jersey Hopniss:
  • BOTANICAL SAMPLE
seeds were foraged from the wild in Salem County, New Jersey, by EFN co-founder Nate Kleinman
  • Peavine Island:
  • wild selection from the Lower Susquehanna River
  • Labeled Best Blackmon:
  • Lost label that may be 1972 or 2019
  • Unnammed Varieties:
  • 1.webpage
2.propagated from several locations in Eastern Ontario
    3.webpage
    4.webpage

6.from an area where cultivar tubers have gone feral. If you select this option (Random unlabeled cultivar), you will receive more tubers per order (around 3-8)

Hi everyone 👋, new to the site so I'm sorry if there's a style of writing posts that I haven't nailed down yet.

Anyways, does anyone know where I can get my hands on some Hannan Popbean? I saw it listed on OSSI and haven't been able to find anyone actually selling that chickpea anymore. All the listings I've come across are from awhile back, are no longer available and just for record purposes. From my understanding they were being cultivated for a more Northern type of crop, but I think they may do well growing in my area and I think it would be fun to try them out.

I'm definitely going to be planting Apios this year, but I do also want to try my hand at the Crispy snack mouse bean (not 100% sure that's a tuber, but I'm seeing sites that are selling it call the underground growth tubers). Also going to try and grow some Wapato as well.

Anthony, have you heard back yet? I sent in a request this morning around 5 something and got an email back around 2 in the afternoon (MST), that I was put on the list for them. I think you have to message them via the "request Seeds" button to get a response? (Not sure if that's what you did or if you just emailed them straight up?) This was the page I went through https://www.mountaingardensherbs.com/seeds

They also do sell the tubers instead of the seeds, but the list [ Plant list PDF webpage ] doesn't have a number. So I'm pretty sure they're out but it's worth a try sending a roots request as well, since they'll most likely add you to a list for them too (I admittedly did not send in a request for the tubbers because I saw the PDF first and the blank price slot) https://www.mountaingardensherbs.com/bare-roots

Anyways, sorry if you did do all of that, I just wanted to try and be helpful.
