I know this thread is a bit old, but I'm curious if anyone has experimented with companion planting and noticed unexpected benefits or issues. I've been trying it out, and while it's supposed to deter pests, I find that some unexpected plant pairings also lead to more flavorful veggies! Anyone else have surprise results?

I’ve had good luck hitting the mold twice a few hours apart instead of trying to nuke it in one go. The first round loosens things up, the second round actually clears it. I also rinse with plain hot water after everything dries so there’s no leftover residue that might stiffen the canvas. Keeping the cover aired out for a full day made a huge difference for me.

Jumping in on this older post because Alexandra's story is so inspiring! I'm curious, how has your journey been since reaching 80% of PEP2? Have you found a land partner yet, or has your approach to marketing evolved over time? Your experiences might be really motivating for others who are thinking of shifting to a more nature-centered lifestyle.
Jumping in on this older post, I'm curious about how this shift has impacted your experience on the forum. Have any of you found specific threads or topics particularly helpful or inspiring since the update? I'm especially interested in any tips or techniques related to permaculture that you've picked up here. It's always great to share successful experiences or challenges we face in our gardening journeys!
I ended up finding a sweet spot by stripping things way back and then adding only what my skin actually seemed to miss. My skin freaked out less once I stopped swapping products all the time. I also learned the hard way that even natural oils can feel heavy if I use too much, so I stick to tiny amounts and let my skin tell me the rest.

I’ve had good luck keeping potted plants cooler by slipping the pots inside slightly bigger ones and stuffing the gap with leaves or straw, kind of like a quick DIY cooler. The soil stays way steadier on hot days. Your trick with cardboard works too, but this gave me longer relief in full sun. Volunteer pumpkins are gold for shade, I let them roam wherever they want.
