I could use help on my 2 and a half a res 1 hour from San Luis Obispo N of Los Angeles in semi desert California Valley. Off grit but some pump for good water. I planted 300 trees and started protected veggie gardens. A motorhome or a straw ale room for a guest to stay
... I have been here 4 year s now. Surrounding lands are merely dry grass but in spring masses of wildflowers I also am an acupuncturist  so plenty to do. Friendly neighbors and community

First post, Im a student of medicine and regenerative agriculture in Southern California. Anyone else on here from Southern California?

yes i am here between San luis Obispo and Bakersfield. Almost dessert but still trees where people water or a few tamari or eucalyptus or black Locust trees or trees of heaven where nobody watered for many years. I got a lot and planted 300 trees and want to dig a big hole to grow more edibles to protect from hard drying winds and late night frosts in April and May sometimes.offvgrid I love inventing solutions for my needs and beautify. Build a,small strawbale room and coming up a Cal Earth dome. Always so much to do plus I am an acupuncturist for 24 yrs and study and practise.

I am lookiing for other maybe over 6o  Permies who like to share land in a very quiet mostly wild valley with too few trees.Halfway San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield in California. I like  to propagate and plant trees and grow food in permaculture way. We are building a strawbale structure right now but I live in a trailer. In hot summers can sleep under the stars (great for most of us) and in winter it gets cold at night, but it goes with the most sunniest places on this globe. Community center 2 miles from here and most neighbors are in the distance, i also like to example or inspire visitors that come here and practice my Acupuncture and Herbal medicine as I have done for 30 years but now the permaculture way.I have good solar pumped water and I planted 300 trees these last three yrs. One can see here for 9 miles, so relaxing for the brain.

I remember reading Bill Mollisons: Alternate in planting your apple with nitrogen fixing. I planted 3 pecans from pots. One had a nitrogen fixer 'Mimosa cross tree' in it which I left when planting and that pecan took off. So now I plant my N fixer less than 2 feet away from fruit and nut trees. This is on a 'no tree' plain in hot, sometimes windy and night freezing winters in S California. I took the hint from that one pecan tree what have others witnessed on the subject of companion trees?

A getting some 2 acres of land near SLO with well. I ant to permaculturize. Am studying towards this and I would like co thinking or input. There is a slide grade to the land, clay soil. Freezes often in wintermonths 20 F good for apples and pears. No trees on it , just tiny flowers. Mesquite trees I am thinking of and solar for waterpump.
Call me? 805 229 1321 I also am a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist.

I dream of permaculturizing 2 and 1/2 acres with well in Calif near SLO and looking for a permie partner. Can we talk on the phone sometimes? I feel email is harder to get a sense of each other. I am an acupuncturist and love plants and cooking. 805.229.1321

I want a cool room for summer desert heat and winter night frosts 20F. Clay soil, no trees yet. There is a road at the highest end of 2 acre property. There the slope is 7 percent for 6 yards where I thought digging the room. The well is there also on the highest part near the road. A drive way has to be made with dirt from the excavation, I thought.
Any suggestions for a roof. Dirt is heavy. I like fog catching (which is there pretty often.)

I would so much love to be part of the Missoula lab but I studied the desert ways and plants, living here so long. And I worry about the cold winters too. What about a sister lab in the Southwest, different challenges but nice weather in spring and fall, hot summers, winters 20F at night, 40F in day. I was given 2 and 1/2 acres for permaculture with well. Write or call if interested. Want to learn more the Indians way of healthy living, close to nature, desert adabted foods and herbs and medicine. I am an acupuncturist and dream of a natural place for sick people to heal themselves.spiritually, emotionally, nutritiously. Pray for the right people to come together for this.
