Volunteering in San Diego area

Hey permies,

I'm a 24 year old German traveller, and will stay in San Diego/Southern California for, at least, the next 5-6 months. I'm looking for volunteer work in gardens/farms/nurseries/vegetable forests. If anyone needs a hand when planting, harvesting, building... I'd be more than happy to help!

I finished my studies in Germany two months ago and "moved" to San Diego because my boyfriend's been here for work for the last couple of years and we were finally able to upgrade our relationship from long-distance to living together. We share an appartment in OB with two friends of ours. I already made our balcony an urban veggie jungle and love to take care of all the herbs and plants. But I miss putting my hands in the soil and working outdoors for a healthy and sustainable future of our mother earth.

I'd love to find a place where I can volunteer for a long term, but I'd be just as happy to help with any short-term projects. I am experienced in gardening and farming as I grew up growing our own food at my parents' house, and spent most of the last travels wwoofing in different parts of Europe.

If anyone of you needs help or knows a place where I could start volunteering in the San Diego area, please let me know!!!

wild willow farm   there a organic farm with classes and you can voluntier  on certian days and they serve lunch with food grown there some of the best food i ever had also really nice people

In East county about 20 min east of OB.  Bancroft center for sustainability.  They could always use volunteers to help in the permie garden.  They have a page on Facebook. I could use help on my 2 and a half a res 1 hour from San Luis Obispo N of Los Angeles in semi desert California Valley. Off grit but some pump for good water. I planted 300 trees and started protected veggie gardens. A motorhome or a straw ale room for a guest to stay
... I have been here 4 year s now. Surrounding lands are merely dry grass but in spring masses of wildflowers I also am an acupuncturist  so plenty to do. Friendly neighbors and community
