This badge bit (BB) is part of the PEP curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in textiles.
In this project, you will make a quilted housecoat or dressing gown with pockets. "Quilting" in a housecoat refers to the stitching that puts the layers together not patchwork. A quilted housecoat could have an outer layer, possible filler, but not always, and inner lining, then some stitched diamonds that put the layers together to stop them shifting and create air pockets for insulation.
Example of quilting.
Minimum requirements:
- make quilted or lined housecoat or dressing gown
- use a natural materials
- include pockets
To document completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pics or video (< 2min):
- The fabric and tools you will use
- Sewing in progress
- The lining and quilting
- The pockets
- Wearing the housecoat or dressing gown, to demonstrate size and fit.
