This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in Woodland Care.

Streams and creeks can be a challenge to cross, especially in springtime.  Maybe it's time to build a bridge...

Here's a version of what we're after.  Perhaps a bit beefier though:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a bridge from logs
  - No dimensional lumber
  - Metal fasteners are allowed
  - 24' span
  - At least 6' wide
  - Strong enough to support a 4 wheeler or equivalent load (1000 lbs)

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - Where the bridge will go
  - Span logs in place
  - Decking going on
  - Finished bridge showing length
  - 4 wheeler or equivalent weight on the bridge

Nothing up my sleeve ... and ... presto! A tiny ad:
