This project thread to discuss the 'Cob' project!

Cob is a natural building material made from subsoil, water, fibrous organic material (usually straw), and sometimes lime.  You can build cob homes, cob ovens, cob tubs, cob showers, cob kitchens...the list goes on and on.

For the 2023 PTJ, how about grading sand, mixing, testing, and building?  Basic cob, fine finish cob.  Finishing methods. Also including the use of natural paint, natural plaster, and natural dyes. Mostly from stuff foraged at the Lab.

What sorts of things would you like to see built or experimented with this year using cob at the PTJ? Do you have any home projects in mind using cob?
