This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the Sand badge in Wood Heat.

A number of nifty wood burning contraptions use a j tube layout when they need fast, strong, clean-burning heat.  Let's get some practice by making one!

Here's a gentleman making one:

Minimum requirements:
  - Make a j style rocket stove (not L shaped)
  - Temporary construction allowed as long as it is sealed well enough to function
  - Light a fire in it
  - Cook something in a cast iron pan
  - Metal, masonry, adobe or cob allowed

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - The materials you're starting with
  - Midway through building it
  - The finished j tube rocket stove
  - Lighting a fire
  - Uncooked food in a cast iron pan, on the stove
  - Cooked food in the pan, on the stove

I agree. Here's the link: https://woodheat.net
