This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEM curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Waste Streams.

Aluminum cans tend to occasionally arrive at our houses.  Ever think of melting them down and molding them into something durable?  Let's give that a try!

Here's one way to mold something fancy:

Minimum requirements:
  - Melt down aluminum cans
  - Mold or shape the aluminum into a useful shape for a homestead.  Possibilities could include:
         - Key fob
         - Plant label
         - Replacement part for a machine
         - Tile
  - Not for something you intend to cook with

Provide proof of the following as pictures or video (<2 min):
  - Aluminum cans you're starting with
  - Your melting apparatus ready to melt
  - Melted aluminum
  - Method you'll use to mold or shape the molten aluminum
  - Finished aluminum piece
  - Explanation of how it's useful on a homestead
