It makes me think times "might be a changin". This week my news feed had two articles that might be good news for people who take a permaculture approach and therefore value diversity, soil building, and/or a new approach to seeing the world.

https://globalnews.ca/news/6523322/bison-crop-sustainability-saskatchewan-farm/
Farmers using mixed plant/animal combinations to build soil and reduce artificial inputs on a prairie farm.

https://globalnews.ca/news/6515396/judea-date-seeds/
Researchers planting extremely old seeds from "extinct" plants - hopefully there will be some diversity rescued here!

Please add your own articles that show up in the "popular press" - a sign that maybe people are appreciating new ways.

This just in - yeah to Quebec (Canada)!  https://globalnews.ca/news/6536079/quebec-recycling-program-updates/
Quebec is going to task producers with planning for end of life issues for their products.
They're going to expand their deposit program to encourage and streamline recycling programs.
It sounds as if they've got both Provincial and Municipal governments on board.
Both Greenpeace Canada and the David Suzuki Foundation are supportive of the program.

There are so many ways we can package things better - let's hope this initiative leads to many positive changes.

This one is a bit of a mixed bag - let's call it the silver lining in the cloud:

https://globalnews.ca/news/6615635/china-coronavirus-quarantine-nasa-images-pollution/

Essentially, it demonstrates what a direct link to human "manufacturing" and "air pollution" there is. I wish this would convince people to make real changes in how things are made. We can keep making/buying cheap stuff that is expensive to our planet! We can choose better ways with our wallet and local effort.
