Sulfur and Diatomaceous earth for crawly creature control

1) Buy sulfur powder from the pharmacy (expensive) or garden supply shop (cheaper).
2) Place sulfur powder in an old sock (no holes please).
3) If you are wearing long pants, stuff pant legs into boots.
4) Slap sulfur sock all over boots and lower pant legs.
6) Store sock back in zip top plastic baggie

8 years of Boy Scouting with my Eagle Scout son, anybody using this technique never got ticks but plenty on the non-sulfur users.

We were in lots of places with lots of ticks, cattle ranch country of Texas.

I also sprinkled sulfur powder and diatomaceous earth at the entrance to the tent to keep the crawly creatures (fire ants, etc.) out.

Does it work on chiggers?

I love DE. It should work with chiggers. I don't know about the sulfur. My husband, bless his heart, once brought home a piece of furniture that was infested with bedbugs. It didn't take long for them to be almost everywhere in our house. I bought a big bag of DE and put it on and all around our beds, in the dog's bed, around the perimeter of every room....I mean everywhere! And I kid you not, even though our house didn't look very nice for a while, we were rid of all of them in about a month. No toxic chems necessary - always a good thing!

DE and Sulfur will definitely get rid of chiggers, ticks, and just about every other insect on the property.
Just mix the two and spread in a fertilizer spreader.

The alternative is 7 dust which I can't use because we're close to a pond and I don't want the run off to get in the pond and kill the fish.
Even if it doesn't kill the fish, I don't want to eat 7 dust later on.
