I saw this article on a $2500 electric mini loader. I live on half an acre and I'm planning to rent a mini-excavator soon for a few projects (septic, earth tube, small pond) and I thought this little mini loader would be useful dealing with the piles of dirt those projects will create and other tasks around our suburban homestead.

Anyone have any experience ordering machinery on Alibaba?

Here's the link to the Alibaba listing for the mini loader if you're interested.

I would check for reviews of the product.
Find people who have used one.
Bobcats have about 20HP  what do these have?
I assume the hydraulics are powered by an electric motor, is it big enough?

It looks like that comes from a very distant place. Are parts readily available? Is there someone nearby who knows how to service it?

Did you notice the lead time? It said "negotiable". That's a big clue.

Tempting ....given your needs.  I suppose I would ask myself , “ if everything went wrong, could I take the hit?”

I have been hunting for product reviews but haven't found anything.

What kind of shipping cost on that?

I found someone on YouTube who lives in my area who recently ordered a mini-excavator from Alibaba. He only stated the shipped cost but it looks like shipping will be ~$500-$750. His lead time was one month.

It looks like that comes from a very distant place. Are parts readily available? Is there someone nearby who knows how to service it?

I could take the financial hit. The loss of favor points with my wife for pursuing other plots of world domination might be more significant. If it got here and turned out to be junk I was thinking I could salvage the batteries for another project.

Interesting little beastie! Be sure to tell us what you learn! I like it!

I am intrigued. If I go through with it I'll post my findings here.
