Making tacos with field corn?

As the title says, can I use fodder maize and turn it into lovely finished tacos? I'm sure it's not the best maize to use but it's all I can get and it's free. We had a long and warm September so the silage maize that is grown all around here has all it's cobs pointing down, there are lots of wet areas in the fields and edges where the combines don't get so there's lots of cobs just standing around waiting to be picked. I went and grabbed a few from over the road, they are not dry by any means, but they are floury, I can still bite the kernels with little effort.

Would I need to dry the corn first before nixamalising it? Or could I just use it as it is now since the first part of the process seems to be boiling dried corn to rehydrate it anyway. I really hope I can try as it is because then I know if the whole idea works before I put on my wellies and spend a few hours carry corn cobs home. (At least neighbours here would not think I was mad, but they would ask if I had gotten chickens) If we like the result I could then try to figure out how to dry a mass of corn in 90% plus humidity.

you should be able to nixtamalize without pre-drying the corn.

and I`ve made masa harina from livestock corn, so between our two answers you should be okay.
I would say you probably still need to do some boiling of the corn if it is dry enough that you can pop off the kernels rather than cut it- but obviously, significantly less.

(as for the taste of livestock corn: the flavor isn't as "full" and beautiful as some flour corn masa I've had, but it works. The nixtamalization gives it a good amount of taste).
