I'm spreading the word about the tiny home apartment on the back of our homestead that's coming up for rent April 1, 2022.

Full details follow below, but know that we live and breathe permaculture, and are hoping to find someone who would like to participate in land-based enterprises, whether that means participating in what we're doing, or starting up their own enterprises. The farm is 50 acres in size, with lots of opportunities, whether for economic or recreational purposes.

If you're interested (or know someone who is), email us at the address below, and we'll be in touch about a zoom call, and viewing the apartment and land.

Have you wanted to live on a permaculture farm? Here’s your chance!  We have a bright and quirky tiny home located on a rural property just North of Dutton, ON. The unit is available for rent as of April 1st, 2022.

This apartment has 3 floors for a total of 592 square feet of living space with a 144 square foot sleeping loft (not high enough to stand up in).  The first floor contains the kitchen, laundry room and seating area (330 Sq Ft). The second floor has some storage, living space and a bathroom (262.5 Sq. Ft).

The space is beautifully designed, for maximum use of space, with lots of light, and many solid wood touches, including floor, trim, and a floor to ceiling ash post at the foot of the stairs.

The tiny home is attached to our family residence, sharing one wall. The unit was fitted with soundproofing insulation, so there is very minimal to no noise transferred from unit to unit.

Here are some details about the rental unit:
Monthly rent is inclusive of utilities (heat, electricity, water)
High speed internet is included in the cost of rent (router included)
In-unit washer and dryer are included
Full-size fridge
Some furniture is included:
Storage island on wheels with two bar stools
Green dresser
Green storage box/chest
One parking space is included right next to the unit
Outdoor storage locker available (unsecured space, located on the upper floor of our large barn)
Access to walking paths, ponds, and forested areas
Heating is efficient electric heaters (provided).

The rental unit is located on 50 acres of land, including a homestead, naturalized areas (including walking paths, multiple ponds, a creek valley, and several acres of forest), animal pasture and hay/switchgrass fields. Wildlife abounds, including rare birds. More about our farm can be found on our website.

Small indoor pets are allowed. No smoking.

Negotiable perks, if you are interested, may include vegetable garden space, and potential enterprises that would respectfully use the land. We offer a learning pod on our land for kids aged 6-12, which is a three day per week largely outdoor program.

Approx driving times: South, East London: 25-30mins; West, Downtown, North London: 45-60mins; Glencoe, Newbury, Strathroy: 30mins

Rent: $900 per month, including utilities and high speed internet.
First and last month rent required. Minimum one year lease.

Please contact info@willowcreekpermaculture.com to inquire.
We’ll set up a zoom/phone call to go over questions, and then arrange for a viewing.

We'd be open to the possibility, and could have a conversation to see if the mix of activities proposed could work for the space and our farm.

That said, as of now (July 2022), the apartment is currently rented on a month by month basis for an unknown duration. When it opens again, we'll re-advertise it. If you want to have a conversation now with a bit more detail about what you would have in mind for coworking, feel free to email me at readrobread at gmail.com.

I think renting an apartment to work in it together with someone, and I think it's a bad idea to have some project. Still, if you want to buy commercial real estate, these are slightly different things, and it's probably even illegal; I can recommend an ideal coworking space where you can work without worrying that it's expensive or inconvenient. I'm a freelancer, and I come to this place to work because I still need a working environment and some equipment that I don't want to buy at home. It is much more convenient than a rented apartment.
