Please share any wild mushroom recipes you have that you like on this thread, perhaps we will get quite the collection going - also please try to identify the mushroom in the recipe unless it is a vague recipe that doesnt require any specific fungi

I'll start with what i am currently eating for dinner - sorry i didnt include any amounts because i just threw together what i had which came out to be just about right for me

You will need:
Coprinus Micaceus (mica cap, shiny cap, glistening inky cap)
mashed potatoes (we did not have any potatoes left so i used the dry mix we had in the cupboard, terrible me, i know:))
gravy (optional)

so first youll harvest your mushrooms, then you want to clean them, try to get the nooks and crannies as i missed a couple of pebbles and have had to eat this softly as a result

these are coprinus mushrooms so discard any that have started to deliquesce (this species will only slightly deliquesce but i threw any that had a blackened edge as i had a large fruiting and plenty to be picky with)

then fry them WITHOUT any oil or anything (these are extremely watery mushrooms so dont worry)

meanwhile boil your water if using a pre-made packet or begin preparing your potatoes for making mashed potatoes, stirring or shaking the pan of mushrooms occassionally

when youre done with the mushrooms, youll want to collect the water that has collected in the pan during cooking, use this in your gravy if you make that or if youre not, then freeze it to use in a stew or gravy later

make your mashed potatoes and gravy (sorry no instruction here i burnt my gravy and all i did was mixed the taters, havent made em from scratch in a while so youre on your own for this part)

mix your mushrooms in with the mashed potatoes while the potatoes are steaming hot so that the mushrooms arent cold

scoop, cover with gravy and serve, enjoy, its quite tasty, and while the mushrooms are cooking you may crave mashed potatoes like i did so it should satisfy you quite well

things to note: DO NOT CONSUME ALCOHOL FOR AT LEAST 18 HRS ON EITHER SIDE OF THIS MEAL, this particular species does NOT cause problems with alcohol to the best of my knowledge however it is a coprinus and some coprinus species do cause some serious issues if they come into contact with alcohol, either during the meal or while the mushrooms are still in your stomach

please feel free to share your recipes, maybe it will give those who can ID a mushroom but dont know what to do with it some inspiration:)
