I just shared this with like... at least 20 people. Hopefully some will show. I may be working long hours by then but lots of the topics look killer!

And by killer I mean stellar... no wait not stellar...

Did that become an insult? I mean it as a compliment...

How does an "event" like this work? Will there be streaming videos by different people, at different times? Will there be written information other than the e-books listed? I've never been to an online event like this, and I have limited (satellite) internet, and therefore would not be able to watch many videos.

I signed up (hey, it's free!) and they sent me an email with this

Starting April 6 through to April 12, each day starting at 6:00 am, five presentations will be posted.

Presentations will be available for 24 hours for you to hear and enjoy.

An email announcing the presentations of the day will be sent to this email account early each morning.

I registered, too, because it was free, and seemed to be indorsed by people/organizations I respect. I guess I should have re-checked my inbox before asking how it works, because I got the same email! Well, at least this way people who are on the fence about registering will know a little more about what comes with the summit and how it works .

Thanks for the heads up, some pretty big names on the list. Now I have to wait in anticipation for a month.

Has anyone been able to receive the eBooks? How does that work? Do we have to wait till the event?

I received a confirmation email from Marjory Wildcraft with the subject "[GROW] Thanks For Registering". At the bottom of the email were 4 links to download the e-books.

I don't have any links to the eBooks either. I opened it in a browser, and that has no links either. I assume (hope) we'll get the links later.

So I chatted with a few others and they never received links either... So i registered again with my work email and the confirmation rcvd included the links so must just be a glitch on their end i suppose....

I just registered and got the email to confirm almost instantly in my inbox and then a bit later after I confirmed I saw something in my 'promotions' box. It was titled "[GROW] Thanks for Registering" and at the bottom there were the links to the ebooks.....

anyone else having trouble accessing this program? I have all the registration emails, e-books, etc. but when I click through to today's schedule, there are no links available beyond the ads for each presenter.

I'm using an updated Firefox browser, FYI.

any pointers would be greatly appreciated - I'd hate to miss the day's window of availability!

I had the same thing happen, I already registered a few weeks ago and have the ebooks, then just got a notification that today was the day to begin, but it all seems to go in circles....asking me to register again and then I get another email with ebooks and then back to the same list of presenters but no links to anything 'live'. I haven't tried this afternoon though.

I just checked again and it's working now gonna go watch!

I almost thought I remembered the talks starting later tonight, but I could be wrong. That may have been for a different summit.

Here is the schedule but I can't seem to find the times either.

It's working well on Chrome.

If you are running any script blocking, ad blocking or cookie deleting add-ons in Firefox you might want to try toggling some of those functions. I noticed there there were a lot of scripts running which would - if not allowed to run- would prevent the videos from being played or even being visible. Each page seems to have a lot of trackers associated with it as well. Most of these don't seem to have much to do with the video playing but there sure are a lot of extras running on the pages of the summit. That being said, it took me only about five extra clicks to get the videos to play.

Paul's talk on going without irrigation was good. You can tell he had so much info to convey and a limited time in which it could be conveyed. And... AND he even kept to talk "family friendly". Nice work Paul

I also listened to Toby's talk on Polyculture. He kept it basic simple and conveyed his message clearly to the targeted audience (backyard growers).

I think the purpose of the summit is to introduce more people to the world of home food production and so far it seems to be living up to that mark.

I guess that's what I need to do. I tried stopping 'ad block' for the videos, but still only have sound on two that I tried and Paul's is just a black box, no nothing I don't intentionally have any 'script blocking' or cookie deleting' that I know of, but I do have Firefox. Other's seem to be having problems also, judging from some of the comments after the presentations. I'll keep poking around and see what happens.

thanks everyone, I knew if I came "here" I'd get some answers!

I do run the ole script blockers, etc. - but had allowed the settings for the linked pages, still had no box for video/audio show up on the links.

BUT it's working now, and I'm able to listen & see the "slideshow" pics.

lookin' forward to hearing "The Duke" later - takin' notes!
