Canada: Seeking land to purchase/lease - developing Organic Farm and Educational Retreat Centre

Our intention with this ad is to reach out to folks who have land for purchase or lease and who feel their community would benefit from our vision.  We are open to collaborations and input. Please feel free to share with anyone who you feel might align with our needs and vision.

We are Carol-Anne and Amanda-Lee, two long-term friends in our early 30s on the quest to match with the ideal land that will allow for the creation of our mutual vision. Combining 20 years of experience of working on and learning with the land through farming, gardening, permaculture, foraging, and community building, we have been gathering the necessary skills and knowledge to fully realize the development of a small-scale market garden farm and educational retreat centre. Our sense of purpose combined with our heart's passion for growing food, providing service to the community, and offering nurturing hospitality is the driving force of both our lives. With the vast potential of owning raw farmable land, we foresee an exciting and abundant life for the community and ourselves.

Our vision

Slow Hands Farm and Education centre is an inclusive self-sustaining micro-farm, education, and retreat centre developing with the intention to fully support and encourage a slow food, slow hands, slow living lifestyle in our community and beyond. We aim to grow a vast portion of the operation's food needs while offering fresh produce to local markets for the neighbouring community. With the principles of Permaculture and the wisdom of holistically managed land, we intend to develop a small-scale market garden and orchard that encourages a symbiotic relationship with all living beings that inhabit the land. Supporting the resurgence of slow living, Slow Hands will be a space and platform for educators and artists to offer a multitude of workshops and educational opportunities through food growing, food preservation, natural building, woodworking, and the countless tools and skills that encourage a holistic mindful lifestyle.

What We Are Looking For:
- 10+ acres of land that yields a biodiverse ecosystem
- located in the Coastal region of BC, but open to other regions for the right fit
- 1 acre of semi-flat or sloped clear land for garden
- wooded forest to build trails
- a natural freshwater source such as a river/creek/spring/lake
- hydro and water hook up access
- rural setting that is nearby a thriving city or town
- ideally bordering crown land

We currently have a lump sum for a down payment and are finalizing farm grants for purchasing land and the start-up of the farm centre. We are writing with the intention to find someone who could offer us a piece of land at an economical price, keeping in mind it would be a fruitful addition to their community long term.
