There are quite a few Preppers/permaculturalists i that part of Canada from what I have see people post.
My thoughts are on the line of simply put up ads in the Farmall, Co-Op and TSC stores. (I know farmall is not right correct but it has been a few years and I can not remember the correct name.)
Go and make some little flyers stating your intent, wander the backroads and put in mail boxes at the end of drives that have land that your looking for. I would leave a blank area for a short hand written note; eg. Looking to put a small Yurt/Mobile camper near your old unused barn on the corner of 7th/21 conc. Rds.. Willing to offer some security on the land and mend some fences if I see they are in need of maintenance,, etc,, etc...
Maybe find a small community go to the
local Pastors and give them the Note, stand politely and do not say anything until they look up and ask you a question or offer feedback. Country people hate it when
City people interupt them or do not listen to what they have to say. Remember this is their little corner of the globe and they might help to make it yours as well.

I found a fellow who has a construction company, he told me he had had lots of losses when they were not around. I said I can stay and give security and give a little bit of cash to stay there.
been there for 2 yrs now.
