Hi there Permies,

Has anyone out there tried or considered trying building some sort version of Atmospheric water generator (AWG) aka hydro panel or hydropanel above swales for auto irrigation? I live in the Pineywoods of Texas, zone 8, Gulf Coastal Plains in the Humid Subtropics.. it seemed like a light bulb moment when I thought of it but I've been searching and I can't find anyone that has gone before me with this idea at all... closest I can find is some people doing something similar with greenhouses. I think it's a great idea but I need someone to help with the logistics! Thanks for any thoughts or ideas!

Hi Wren, Welcome to Permies!

Not something I'm familiar with myself, but following the similar threads below leads to several that may be of interest for you?

I feel we have folks doing something like this without knowing that is what they are doing.

They are putting clear plastic over some plants which will generate water.

I immediately thought of the link Nancy gave you regarding Air Wells.

Seems like I remember just recently someone talking about a solar collector.

And this:

Joycelyn said, "a billboard that is collecting drinking water out of the air in Lima, Peru.

From here

Cristian said, "The Groasis Waterboxx is a sort of air well, I guess, since it condenses water from the air.

From here

I am looking forward to what other have done.
